still being [molly] Closet Staples: Leather Jacket

Hey everyone! I'm Molly and I blog over at still being [molly] - a blog about my love of fashion, my love for my faith, and a whole lot of general fawesome. I'm SO excited to be guest posting for Krista today. I've been reading Krista's blog since she started and we quickly became good blog friends - well, except for when March comes… I'm a Tar Heel fan. :) But seriously, Krista is awesome so I was honored when she asked me to guest post for her while she's studying abroad! 

Anyway. I figured since Krista's been talking about her winter staples a lot over the last few weeks, I thought I'd share a few looks with one of my new closet staples: My leather jacket.

Now, deep down, I am as preppy as they come. I was born and raised in Virginia, was in a very southern sorority in college, and I now live in the southern part of heaven. Pearls and popped collars are like a second language. However, my style has really evolved over the years and I love trying new styles and stepping outside my comfort zone.

If you had told me even a year ago I'd be wearing a black leather moto jacket, shorts, and tights, I'da looked at you like you had six eyes or something. 

But, ever since I got this puppy in the mail last month, I've worn it ALL. THE. TIME.

Oh leather jacket, where have you been all my life?

It's just such a versatile piece to have in your closet in the colder months. I mean, dress it up, dress it down, dress it all around. You know what I mean. I also LOVE pairing it with the most unexpected pieces - like a lace dress? COME ON! Sequin shorts? COME ON! A ruffled polka dot dress? BE STILL MY HEART.
