Preppy State of Mind: Layering and Pairing

Hello!  I'm Rachel, and I blog over at A Preppy State of Mind.  I'm thrilled to be filling in for Krista today!  I'm so excited for her as she's traveling abroad!  I can't wait to see pictures from her trip.  That is something I have always wanted to do, and I know hearing about her's will make me want to go even more.

There are those times when you find inspiration in a certain look, and this certain look just makes you feel good inside.  That is how all outfits should make you feel!  When you step out of your closet each day, you should be saying "I'm so excited to show the world what I'm wearing."  This current craze of mine is something that has me feeling whimsy, so I will be sharing that with y'all today.

I like to call this "layering and pairing!"  Basically, it's a fun way to bring out colors and patterns.  Here are some pictures from one of my "layered and paired" looks.

In this particular outfit, I was focusing on layering the coral pinks and browns while pairing them with polka dots.

There are hints of coral in the sweater, and I used the chambray button down and flats to bring this color out.  The Vicker's Bow Bracelets, the newest collection of Kiel James Patrick, are great for bringing out patterns!  I used the bow and the jeans for bringing out the polka dots.

I hope you've enjoyed this post!  If so, stop by the blog to see more.  There are also a few more ways to follow me, if you're interested.  Thank you so much for having me, Krista!  I hope you're having a splendid time while traveling abroad.
